📖 Plot Summary
In an alternate 1920s Gotham, Bruce Wayne returns after twenty years abroad—from which he has uncovered an expedition disaster tied to Oswald Cobblepot—and suddenly finds his city under siege by supernatural horror. After inadvertently awakening the ancient evil known as the Lurker, Batman confronts a cult and reimagined rogues including a Lovecraftian Ra’s al Ghul, Two‑Face, Poison Ivy, and Etrigan. With help from Kai Li Cain and Oliver Queen, Batman sacrifices his humanity to battle forces beyond logic and save Gotham’s soul.

📝 Overview
Directed by Christopher Berkeley and Sam Liu and adapted from Mike Mignola’s Elseworlds comic, this film fuses Lovecraftian horror with pulp superhero mythology. Critics praised its imaginative visuals and voice performances while noting an overstuffed narrative crunched into an 86‑minute runtime. While the ambitious worldbuilding intrigues fans, many found the plot rushed and dense.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Friendliness / Christian Perspective
Rated PG‑13 for strong violence, disturbing supernatural images, brief partial nudity, and language.
Not a faith-based story, but themes like self-sacrifice, confronting evil, moral integrity, and legacy can resonate with spiritual values. The horror elements and gothic tone place this well beyond typical family viewing, best suited for older teens and adults.
