Plot Summary

The Egg and I follows a young city couple who move to the country to start a chicken farm. They quickly encounter their quirky neighbors, Ma and Pa Kettle, a rustic, large family with plenty of hilarious antics. While the newlyweds struggle to adjust to farm life, Ma and Pa provide both comic relief and heartwarming support. This movie was based on Betty MacDonald’s popular memoir and launched the Ma and Pa Kettle characters into their own series.
