Plot Summary:
In Rampage, primatologist Davis Okoye shares a close bond with George, an intelligent albino gorilla. When a genetic experiment goes wrong, George and other animals mutate into enormous, dangerous creatures. Okoye teams up with a geneticist to prevent the mutated animals from destroying Chicago while uncovering the corporation behind the experiment. The story highlights friendship, loyalty, and the struggle against greed and corruption.
Critics Review:
Critics praised the film’s action sequences, visual effects, and Dwayne Johnson's performance. However, some found the plot predictable and lacking depth. The movie delivers high-energy spectacle but leans heavily on familiar blockbuster formulas.
Christian Perspective:
From a Christian viewpoint, Rampage emphasizes themes of loyalty, friendship, and courage in the face of adversity. However, the film’s focus on destruction and violence may contrast with Christian values that promote peace, stewardship of creation, and moral responsibility. Ethical questions about tampering with nature also emerge.
Family Friendliness:
The film is suitable for older children and teens due to intense action sequences and peril. Parents should note the level of violence, destruction, and peril. Themes of teamwork, perseverance, and loyalty provide positive discussion points for families, but the intensity may not be suitable for younger viewers.
