Synopsis
This reboot ditches the live-action humans and takes the Smurfs back to their fully animated roots. When Smurfette discovers a mysterious map hinting at another Smurf village, she sets off into the Forbidden Forest with Brainy, Clumsy, and Hefty. Along the way, they discover a secret tribe of all-female Smurfs—and that Gargamel is on the hunt too.

Overview
Visually brighter and more faithful to the original comics, this one was made just for kids. The plot is straightforward, the humor is gentle, and the themes are all about discovering identity, teamwork, and courage. It’s sweet and forgettable but miles more charming than the 2011/2013 hybrids.

Family Friendliness
This is a safe watch for all ages—no language, no gross jokes, no dark magic. There’s a bit of animated peril and Gargamel is still his zany self, but nothing scary. Lots of giggles, girl-power, and teamwork. Great for ages 5+.

Christian Perspective
Smurfette’s journey is about purpose—created by Gargamel for evil, she chooses good. It’s a simple but profound echo of 2 Corinthians 5:17 (“If anyone is in Christ… the old is gone, the new has come”). Her courage and sacrificial choices carry spiritual echoes, though the movie itself stays completely secular. Still, its values are very compatible with Christian family themes.
