What We Know So Far:
Spaceballs 2 is confirmed to have a theatrical release, giving audiences the chance to experience the film on the big screen. The sequel is designed to expand the Spaceballs universe, exploring new storylines and characters while remaining faithful to the comedic style established by Mel Brooks in the 1987 original.

The film is described as a “Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film,” indicating a self-aware take on modern franchise filmmaking. It aims to celebrate Mel Brooks' comedic legacy and parody modern film franchises while continuing the satirical spirit of the original Spaceballs.

The original cast members Bill Pullman and Rick Moranis are confirmed to be returning. Mel Brooks, who wrote, directed, and starred in the first film, is also returning as a producer and will reprise his role as Yogurt. Josh Gad is set to star and co-write the script. Keke Palmer is joining the cast in an undisclosed role.

The film will feature the son of Lone Starr and Princess Vespa, Starburst (played by Lewis Pullman, Bill Pullman’s son), and promises to bring back classic humor while introducing new characters and adventures.

The runtime for Spaceballs 2 has not been officially announced. While the film is scheduled for release in 2027, details about its length are not yet available. A fan-made trailer has circulated online, including commentary about the movie’s announcement and potential connections to the Dune franchise.
