Plot Summary:
Star A 7498.1: The Constellation Project follows Captain Preston Sisko as he works to repair the Constellation-class starship, which has suffered a total collapse. Facing difficult repairs and the possibility of scrapping the ship, Preston juggles his professional responsibilities with personal concerns, sharing a heartfelt conversation with his wife about their son and the dangers of his Starfleet duties.

Commodore Boone and Preston discuss an alternative proposal from “Saul” to convert the Constellation into a museum while continuing necessary repairs. Preston takes charge of the project, coordinating with JT and Task Force 78 to relocate the ship to the heavily guarded Wolf System in Sector 359. The museum location would not only preserve the ship but also allow Preston to be closer to his family. Other Starfleet officers, including Captains Allen, Denel, Ramsay, Stall, and Admiral Austin, pledge their support, setting the stage for a combined effort to save and honor the Constellation.
